Busy, busy...

Tasks I've been meaning to do but have put off:
  • linking my cards to challenges before the due date (I'm such a procrastinator). How am I ever going to get people to my site if I keep forgetting to post?!?! I mean, I finish the cards way before the due date but I just keep telling myself I have time before the deadline and by the time I know it, there's a new challenge!!
  • selling my cards. I keep wanting to make more and more cards so there are more and more options. My sister tells me she's just going to steal my cards and sell them herself. I will get this going, I promise.
  • Updating my blog. Time really does fly................
  • Posting pictures of my new play area. Its messy now. I should've taken pictures before I started making cards again but I know where EVERYTHING is and if I move it, I might just pull my hair out trying to look for it. I've also decided, I need more space...
  • making a facebook account. Does it really work?
  • etsy, here I come.
  • ebay, you too.
On to the cards.....

Because of You

I was playing around with layering stamps. I actually picked up some flock to try out and the lady at the desk told me that using the embossing ink pad would work... she CLEARLY does not know what she's talking about it. I knew I should have questioned her knowledge more but decided I might offend her. Anyway, the red was supposed to be the flock but being that it didn't work the way I wanted and I couldn't wait until the next day to finish the card, I just decided to stick with the stamp layering.

Thinking of You

So this was meant to be in the ColourQ Challenge but I, unfortunately, did not make the deadline. It was also my first time playing around with flock. It didn't come out as thick as I wanted to but I figured, its my first attempt and its ok, I still have time to learn the technique and master it.

The Birthday Cards

I meant to give these away but ended up making different cards for my friends. These will go into the Birthday Collection.

Thank You

This card will also join the Thank You card collection. This was designed for The Shabby Tea Room but I yet again missed the deadline. Oh well. Can you see the dry emboss I attempted? My first time as well. Not sure I'll be a fan of the dry emboss just yet...

Those are a few of the cards I've created since the move. Will hopefully accomplish my tasks listed above soon. Happy CardMaking!

More embossing...

Created these about two weeks ago before packing up my things for the move. I've been wanting to buy more supplies but must wait (practicing restraint). On the bright side, I'm going to get a work table at the new apartment for all my crafts!! I'm super excited and can't wait to start making cards again.

Embossing

Participating in the CAS-ual Fridays: CFC16 with embossing. I just started embossing about three weeks ago. Went a little bit crazy with a few cards but still trying to figure out the kinks and making it work.

Card Block

There is such a thing! I've been making cards day and night, trying to create as many of them as possible. My goal is to start selling the cards. We have a bazaar coming up that I want to sell at so I can donate that money to a scholarship fund.

Meanwhile, during my card block, I am trying to figure out the kinks of blogspot. I want to create my own background and make the page a little more me and a little less...google. Anyway, here I go off on my adventure. I will post pictures soon.

MIA

I wish I was in Miami! =/ I've been busy, busy, busy with family, family, family! I whipped out quite a few simple cards the last two days to make up for my two/three cards a week. I've also been waiting for a package to arrive from Canada full of new items to play with! Just you wait...

"Time is a companion...

who reminds us to cherish every moment because it'll never come again..."

how true this statement is. Recently I've been thinking a lot about memories, the changing times, and how closer or further we drift apart. In light of the 4th of July holiday and the challenge at The Shabby Tea Room, I came up with this card:

Using the patriotic colors to jump start the idea of time. I used wax to seal in the heart and added jewels to make the lace stand out.

Thanks for the challenge, I had a great time with this!

This is my first entry for the CR84FN32 Color Challenge:

I opted for simple and played with the button collection I just bought:

Blue without you...

This was challenging for me to make. My sister asked me to make a card for her using the idea of puzzles! I used stamps for the puzzle and magnetized both the heart and the puzzle piece so they would stay together. Anyway, I hope she likes it:

Father's Day card

Just for fun. I made this card for Abe's dad. I was going to enter it into a challenge but was too late. His dad really dresses like this!!!

Think travel...

My family will be meeting in Atlanta, GA without me...AGAIN! I miss them truly and wish them happy travels and laughter. My work and school are keeping me at home. I've been googling and following a bunch of different blogs and challenges to enter but mainly for inspiration. Here's my card for the Play Date Cafe Challenge #86

Background: Painted the clouds in.
Plane: hand cut from a silhouette I found, propeller made from metal wiring
Print: Pink glittery stickers from sticko

Previous Cards

I've only recently started making cards on a regular basis so I don't have much to show for but here are a few other designs.

Blueberry. Cream. Dusty Rose....here I go.

First time playing at The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC85. Love the colors, thought I'd try it out...

... and the result... I've been playing around with stamps a lot, I love lace so used doilies and pressed it in pink ink. Found the shell button in my collection- the ultimate inspiration for this card...

Being brave...

I am messy but I know where everything is. The things I forget to do once I leave my arts and crafts room that has me running to the store are: glue sticks (I always leave them open and they dry up!) and ink pads (there's so many dry ones I've resorted to buying smaller sizes).

This is my attempt at being brave and posting up cards I have made. Wish me luck!
